CCEP NZ Empowers Employees to Support Local Charities

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners New Zealand (CCEP NZ) new employee driven and community focussed programme, Support My Cause, has donated $30,000 to local charities in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Support My Cause is a global CCEP employee-led initiative which gives all CCEP employees the opportunity to nominate a charity that is meaningful to them. The shortlist goes to an employee vote with the chosen charities receiving a share of money.

This year, CCEP NZ launched its first every Support My Cause campaign and the recipients of the 2022 Support My Cause NZ funding round are; Awhitu Landcare, nominated by Luke Graham (Business Manager – Foodstuffs North Island), Auckland Women’s Refuge, nominated by Brendan Podayko (Information Assurance Manager) and Bellyful West Auckland, nominated by Richard Davis (Customer Business Manager).

Managing Director of New Zealand and Fiji at CCEP NZ, Chris Litchfield, said the initiative gives everyone in the organisation a voice and empowers people to make a positive difference within their communities.

“The Support My Cause initiative is designed to support local charities, community organisations, or good causes that are meaningful to our people and support our communities in which we operate.”

“We’re delighted we can support and provide immediate relief to those smaller causes delivering such important work for our communities,” said Litchfield.

The Support My Cause initiative just one of the important initiatives that CCEP NZ invests in to support the community, the business also has an ongoing partnership with Youthline and Sea Cleaners and supports local groups on a grassroots level with their Community Caracoolers.

In 2017 CCEP NZ took their partnership with Youthline to the next level and launched the Youthline & Coca-Cola Good2Great Programme, a leadership programme to help young Kiwis become their best selves. The programme is a series of weekend workshops throughout the country where it gives young people an opportunity to connect with others, reflect on themselves and create awesome projects in the community.

Since 2018, the Coca-Cola Foundation has provided a grant of $300,000 per year to local charity Sea Cleaners to support the collection of litter around New Zealand’s waterways and educate the community on the importance of being a tidy Kiwi.

CCEP NZ also supports local charities, sports teams and community groups fundraising efforts with a specially created a range of Community Caracoolers and special event pricing.
