SodaStream has released its 2018 April Fools’ video featuring Shahs of Sunset reality star, Reza Farahan, and Thor Bjornsson, aka The Mountain from Game of Thrones.
SodaStream’s parody presents its innovation, SodaSoak, in an infomercial style video. The add-on installation enables consumers to carbonate their bath and can be “purchased” at GetSodaSoak.com, at an exceptional 98% discount rate!

We asked Reza some questions following SodaStream April Fools’ Satire Infomercial:
- Why did you decide to partner with SodaStream on this campaign?
I’ve been using SodaStream for years, I’m a huge fan of the brand. I jumped at the chance to work with such a revolutionary company. SodaStream spreads awareness about two important issues – hydration and the global epidemic of plastic bottle pollution. Partnering with SodaStream was a no brainer because it’s a brand I can trust and falls in line with my own personal beliefs and values.
- Sodastream is an ethical brand, what in their way of doing business meets your personal beliefs?
I admire SodaStream’s ethical approach to business; SodaStream brings together people of different ethnicities, religions and backgrounds from all over the world to work together in peace and harmony. I find this inspiring even more in today’s world where segregation, fear of others and hate are dominating many aspects of our lives.
- Carbonating your bath with SodaStream sounds like a damn good idea, why fake it?
It’s hilarious but unfortunately scientifically impossible at the moment. Nevertheless, SodaStream is on an endless search for sustainable innovations to make sparkling water accessible, fun and free of polluting single-use plastic bottles.
- Do you find SodaStream is an efficient soda-detox tool?
Absolutely, from personal experience. I recently lost a ton of weight. Overall, it has been a combination of changing my habits, counting calories, watching portion sizes and increasing my water intake. I was able to do this easily with my SodaStream. The bubbles in sparkling water help me feel fuller between meals and eliminate the craving for sugar. SodaStream allowed me to cut down on my bad soda habit.
- What do you do in your private life to live more sustainably?
I work like crazy so it’s even more important for me to maintain a sustainable and healthy lifestyle. I exercise, I try to eat well and most important I try to meet the right level of hydration without polluting the planet so I use the SodaStream half-liter bottle that I take with me anywhere.
- How does it feel to star in a video with the strongest man on earth, Thor Bjornsson?
Honestly, it’s an honor, I’m a big fan and I discovered we have more in common than I would have thought. Being an athlete, he is obviously very concerned with his diet and we both want to take steps for the environment hence our excitement to collaborate with a company like SodaStream.
- How do you like your sparkling water?
I love to drink pure and fresh sparkling water; when I want to indulge, I add a touch of flavor. As for party drinks, we all know I like to have a good time and enjoy a good drink; my go-to is tequila soda + lime. It’s pretty low in calories, and tastes like a dream.
- Being a fearless advocate of gay rights, do you feel there has been any positive change in the public sphere in the US since your first appearance on the show?
Absolutely, tolerance enables different communities to share ideas and live side by side. We need to spread this message widely and national broadcast is definitely a great vector for that.
- Can you share with us a bit more on your career next steps? Your next challenges? Your dream?
I want to start a family with my husband, grow my hair (products) line, get into developing real estate projects and continue working on Project Angel Food; and of course, I want to continue working on looking like a 21 year old!
