Portrait of happy teenager eating chipsAt $331 million* annually, with growth at 4.1% ($13 million*), Snackfoods is one of the fast growing categories in Grocery, well ahead of the total Grocery growth at 1.6%. The category is relatively diverse in make up, with segments from potato chips, corn chips, nuts and popcorn.

At the heart of Snackfoods are potato chips, worth $111million and they continue to deliver growth at 3.5%. Jodie Keenan, Marketing Manager for ETA says: “It’s been a busy year, with the on-going success of our cereal snacks re-launch (Cheeseballs, Monster Munch and Cruncheese), and in July, the much anticipated return of O’Ryans. O’Ryan’s is great for the ETA brand as their distinctive flavours, including Sizzling Bacon and Flame Grilled Steak really deliver on ETA’s promise to deliver big flavour.”

Has the launch achieved?  Keenan says: “We believe so, with almost $700,000 of retail sales value in just 13 weeks we are delighted with performance. As summer approaches and guys stand around the BBQ we are confident O’Ryans will be fuelling them!”
