New World is committed to helping New Zealanders with the rising cost of living by helping them to shop to their budget. Following the success of Price Rollback, which has saved Kiwis $13.8 million since it was launched in May, the 100% locally owned and operated cooperatives have announced a new low and stable pricing initiative to ensure New World customers can have even more certainty on the price of their groceries at the checkout.
Everyday Low Price was introduced in all 148 New World stores nationwide on 15 August, with 100s of everyday items, at low stable prices.
From the easy to find bright blue ticketing, to the product selection, Everyday Low Price has been created to ensure customers can step into any New World and easily find value. New World Mosgiel owner Melanie Shore says New World is committed to providing customers with value every single day and Everyday Low Price is the result of owner-operators ability to respond to what’s happening in their communities up and down the country, in a way that will have a genuine positive impact on customers lives.
“We know that getting great value out of your shop is so important to our customers, and they’ve been telling us it would make a huge difference if they could be more certain they were within their budget when they got to the checkout – Everyday Low Price will allow people to do just that by ensuring low, stable pricing for 100s of everyday items.”
To ensure shoppers can easily identify which products are Everyday Low Price, New World has stepped out of its red comfort zone and into the blue – with instantly recognisable bright blue ticketing that can’t be missed instore or online.
Melanie continues, “This is a really significant initiative, so it’s important it makes an impact and stands out – which is why we’ve introduced the bright blue ticket. Melanie continues, “This is a really significant initiative, so it’s important it makes an impact and stand out – which is why we’ve introduced the bright blue ticket. Everyday Low Price isn’t a one-off promotion, our blue ticket is here to stay, so our shoppers can easily find great value and have more certainty on the price of their groceries every time they shop at New World.”
The range of everyday items that make up the Everyday Low Price ticket has been thoroughly researched and includes hundreds of products that are a mix of branded and own label grocery items, as well as household and personal hygiene products.
“The process to select what is included on the Everyday Low Price ticket has been carefully worked through using our customer insights,” explains David Stewart, General Manager of Merchandise at Foodstuffs North Island. “To make a meaningful difference we wanted to be sure we were including items many of our customers eat and use almost every day. We’ve used customer insights from across the country to ensure we get a good balance of products and in-time we intend to continue to expand the range of Everyday Low Price products”.
“There’re hundreds of items that are included in Everyday Low Price, they’re many of the groceries our customers buy week in, week out.”
The Everyday Low Price range includes items like bread, butter, cheese, meat, canola oil, canned and frozen vegetables. New World trades constantly to get customers deals on fresh fruit and vegetables each day and will continue to deliver good value on these.
