2-New PaknSave stores-OrmistonPAK’nSAVE Ormiston is completing its finishing touches, as the eagerly anticipated new store gets ready to open on Tuesday 10 November. The 6,160 square metre supermarket will create 130 new jobs in the community. The store is at 240 Ormiston Road, conveniently located in the centre of the future Ormiston town centre.

Angela Bull, Foodstuffs North Island General Manager, Property Development says: “We are excited to be the first to open in the new town centre at Ormiston. We will be able to provide the growing local community with a modern PAK’nSAVE for our customers to enjoy, with great natural light, wide aisles and plenty of car parks.”

David Hannan, owner-operator of PAK’nSAVE Ormiston says: “I can’t wait to open the doors to our new store and it’s great that we can bring PAK’nSAVE’s policy of New Zealand’s lowest food prices to the Ormiston community. We have a fresh bakery, butchery, deli and seafood counter plus a large range of fresh food and grocery products, along with the same great prices and personal service our customers enjoy at PAK’nSAVE.”

The supermarket will be officially opened by the Mayor of Auckland, Len Brown.

Foodstuffs North Island Limited is also starting construction of a replacement PAK’nSAVE store in Tamatea, located alongside the current store in the heart of the Tamatea community. The new store will be ready to open in late 2016.

“The existing PAK’nSAVE at Tamatea has served the local community well for many years,” says Bull.  “However it is time for a new store, and we have taken the opportunity to design a new store which has plenty of natural light, wider aisles and a spacious retail environment to provide a lighter, brighter and modern PAK’nSAVE for our customers to shop at. We are delighted to be investing in the Tamatea community and working with a local team, including Mackersey Construction Ltd and local tradesmen to build the new PAK’nSAVE.”

The new store will be 5,500sqm and provide 327 car parks. An adjoining complex of eight stores will also be built, continuing the community and retail hub for the locals.

The owner-operators of PAK’nSAVE Tamatea are excited about the investment in the store and community.

The current store will remain open while the new store is constructed alongside. There will be plenty of car parking available, and the PAK’nSAVE team will make sure customers can do all their shopping in a safe and convenient environment.
