Mrs Mac’s is one of Australia’s largest family owned bakeries with a proud record of producing some of the country’s best savoury pastry products, particularly pies and sausage rolls. Mrs Mac’s has been exporting to New Zealand for well over 10 years, with significant growth over that period. Mrs Mac’s branded products can be purchased through many dairies and lunch bars in both the North and South Islands, as well as a growing number of convenience stores and fuel retailers. The business is now positioning itself for significant future growth, both in its traditional categories as well as broader food categories.

Peter Fallon, Chairman of Mrs Mac’s Board of Directors told FMCG Business: “Our mission is to build on this strong foundation and create one of Australia’s greatest food companies. To lead this future growth, I am excited to announce that Mr. Paul Slaughter has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Mrs Mac’s, commencing with the company on 9th February.

“Paul is an experienced senior executive within food and fast moving consumer goods and has extensive corporate and small business experience both domestically and internationally. His most recent role was General Manager of the Metcash Food & Grocery (IGA) business in Western Australia where he led the entire wholesale, manufacturing and distribution business. He was also Director of the Metcash Transformation project in Sydney, leading a 65-strong team to transform that business nationally.”

Paul Slaughter has a degree qualification in Marketing (University of WA) and Strategic Management (Macquarie Graduate School of Management). He recently completed the Advanced Management Program at the world renowned leadership school, INSEAD (France) and he is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
