Loveblock scores at the New Zealand Organic Wine Awards

Image - Organic WineLoveblock 2013 Organic Sauvignon Blanc has been awarded an Elite Gold medal at the 2014 New Zealand Organic Wine Awards. The awards are unusual as there is no fee to enter and no awards ceremony. Instead, the focus is on helping consumers identify quality organic wines and drive sales up. There is only one entry requirement — the wine must be certified organic by one of the four New Zealand certifiers.

Here are the notes for Loveblock 2013 Organic Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

“A new focus project from acclaimed winemakers Erica and Kim Crawford, has landed an Elite Gold at the inaugural NZ Organic Wine Awards, which translates roughly to ‘grab it whilst you can!’. This Sauvignon Blanc has a wonderful purity, both in the taste, and texture. A refreshing palate of grapefruit, lime, leaving a finish of sweet tropical flavours. Great for drinking now, or cellaring for 2-4 years for those who like a little less acidity.”

Congratulations to Loveblock for this award.

Organisers plan to launch the 2015 NZ Organic Wine Awards in March with judging taking place in May.
