Passage Rock searching for new winemaker

passage-rockWaiheke Island vineyard Passage Rock is searching for a new winemaker to join its team.

The 100-tonne family-owned winery, with a focus on Syrah, Bordeaux Blends, Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Gris and Rosé, is looking for an “energised, self-driven, skilled winemaker with a passion for excellence in wine”.

“Founded in 1993 we have not always been the most resourced winery, but we have always aimed high and produced excellent results, including multiple trophies and gold medal ratings,” says Passage Rock in the job advertisement.

“You will be fit motivated and have an ambitious passion to make the very best wine you can with the resources you have.”

The successful applicant will be responsible for working with the vineyard manager and executive winemaker (owner founder) for the wine production – from vine, to bottling and dispatch of the wine, and all associated recordkeeping and compliance that goes with it.

Applicants need to be practical, organised and able to work under pressure to achieve excellent results.

Applicants will have an oenology degree or diploma and at least 3 years’ experience in wine production.
