The international trade fair for the food industry, Anuga, is currently under way in Cologne, Germany (October 10–14, 2015). More than 150,000 visitors from all over the world are expected to attend.
The top trend themes at Anuga this year include Organic products (2,030 exhibits); Gourmet products and regional specialities (2,722); Health and Functional Food (1,677); Brand names / private labels (3,151); Kosher products (1,577); Halal food (1,694); Vegan products (996); Vegetarian products (1,783) and Fair trade products (627).
Among the innovations on display at the trade show are:
*Artisan Green Tea Matcha Gelato wrapped in soft Japanese Mochi
*Chicken Gelati (ice cream with Swiss chicken meat in three flavours: curry with pineapple, caramel and estragon)
*A lactose, sugar and gluten free ice cream, covered in dark chocolate
*Battered avocado slices, prefried and frozen (available in pepper and natural flavour)
*Vegetarian bratwurst with curry sauce (the convenience meal comes with a wooden fork)
*Fig & Mustard Spread
*Vegan Smoothie with Spinach and Coconut milk
*Heart-shaped organic mozzarella cheese
*Sparkling Coconut Water.
