DB widens range with two new brews

DB has been busy, with two new variants launched recently. The popular and famously irreverent Tui brand now has a full-flavoured, late-hopped European-style pilsner to add to its Pale Ale, Dark, Blonde and Lager variants.

William Papesch, Tui Marketing Manager says consumers are drinking more lager-style beers, and Tui Pilsner is all about giving them what they want: a 5% full flavoured beer, with a crisp and refreshing hop bitterness.

Tui celebrates its 125th year of brewing this year.

Tui Pilsner is another feather in the cap for the brewers, but also a step with the future in mind,” says Papesch.

Tui Pilsner is the second new beer introduced by the brewery in the past seven months, after the successful launch of Tui Lager late last year. Tui Pilsner is available in 330ml bottle 12-packs with a RRP of $22.99.

Not to be outdone, Monteith’s has added another string to its bow, with the launch of Southern Pale Ale, a New Zealand style pale ale with light crystal malt characters and tropical, passionfruit-like flavours. This brew is noticeably bittered with a clean, crisp finish and has a light, citrusy and piney aroma due to its late dry-hopping.

Tony Mercer, Monteith’s Head Brewer says, “We had our work cut out for ourselves when we decided to replace the Pacific Pale Ale, but we have created something very special and something we’re very proud of. Our new Southern Pale Ale is brewed with lightly roasted pale malts and has a slight hop profile rather than the more aggressive style of an IPA. The hops in our Southern Pale Ale give the beer a hop forward aroma and flavour.”

Monteith’s Southern Pale Ale is ideal with rich hearty meals like beef roasts and venison, as well as the more spicy fried seafood dishes, where the bitterness cuts through the flavours and cleanses the palate.

New Monteith’s Southern Pale Ale is available now in 6-packs and 12-packs with RRPs of $16.99 and $26.99 respectively.
