Corona offers a platform to help those who save others

rsz_corona_-_imageCorona is supporting the Piha Surf Live Saving Club’s (PSLSC) fund raising efforts with an art exhibition, a temporary deck and a pop-up bar.

For six weeks from January 16, the Piha Surf Life Saving Club will host a unique exhibition of ten stunning New Zealand coastal images, captured by a selection of globally recognised surf, travel and lifestyle photographers.

Currently fundraising for a major redevelopment of their facilities, PSLSC welcomes the Corona Extra curated ‘NZ Perspectives’ exhibition and auction to help generate much needed funds this summer, while capturing the spirit of “From Where You’d Rather Be”.

Playing a vital role at one of NZ’s most iconic surf beaches the PSLSC fundraising drive resonated with all of the photographers involved in the exhibition due to their association with the beautiful coastline at some stage over their careers.

Each piece will be professionally framed and displayed at the Surf Club and available to bid on via an online auction with all profits raised being donated back to the club.

Stephanie Quantrill from Corona, says “NZ Perspectives aims to showcase the work of 10 inspiring photographers who have captured the most beautiful coastal images from across the country, while at the same time raise awareness of the redevelopment project at PSLSC.”

As well as the exhibition, Corona will create a temporary deck and pop-up bar at the front of the Club – so visitors can enjoy the sun setting over Piha from a prime position. All profits from the sale of Corona will contribute to the fundraising efforts of the PSLSC.

The deck will be open from 4.30pm – Sunset every Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. Both the exhibition and the deck open on Friday 16th January and end on Sunday 1st March.

“Our surf club is well-known for helping save the lives of those who get into difficulty at Piha. Working in partnership with Corona, we’re aiming to raise vital funds for the redevelopment of our club, helping build a better future for both our local community and visitors to the beach,” says Peter Brown, President of Piha Surf Life Saving Club.
