New Zealand’s City of the South gets a chocolate coating in July as people of all ages enjoy a week of chocolaty fun at Dunedin Cadbury Chocolate Carnival.

With the Cadbury Carnival fast approaching (16 – 22 July), the wheels are firmly in motion and the Jaffas will soon be stickered in preparation for the annual race down Baldwin Street in Dunedin – – the world’s steepest street.

Some of the choc-tastic events on the cards include:

  • An Olympic-sized opening ceremony complete with fireworks with Para-Athletes Holly Robinson and Rory McSweeney visiting just before their Rio jaunt
  • A chocolate-themed couture fashion show
  • The real life crunchie train complete with suspicious characters keen to steal passengers’ loot
  • The visual feast that is the Jaffa Race, benefitting Make-A-Wish, Surf Life -Saving and The Parents Centre this year.

As well as being home to Cadbury World, Dunedin entices visitors with its dramatic setting and fascinating heritage.
