As we hunker down during the Winter months, food and drink takes on even more importance and if you are looking for ideas of what to serve in your own kitchen – The Food Show returns to the Garden City this August 19 – 21st at Christchurch Arena and the team can’t wait to serve up a plate of inspiration, education and temptation!
Come ready to stock the pantry and try things you’d never even imagined existed from the 110 exhibitors heading to the show. From delicious chocolates, cheeses, ice-cream, wagyu, dried fruits, chutneys, vegetables and wines, cookware, knife sharpeners, curry sauces and gin….to name a few! This will be a show particularly full of delicious treats from local artisans as well as morsels from foodies from all over the country.
The melting pot of New Zealand’s cooking talent will be on display in the NEFF Cooking Theatre and in addition to household names like Annabelle White and Michael Van de Elzen, you can pick up cooking tips from local legends such as Jax Hamilton, Simon Levy owner of INATI and Flip Grater from Grater Goods. Michael Dearth, judge on MasterChef NZ, will also be presenting on Saturday.
The Wine and Cheese Masterclass brought to you by Villa Maria returns to take your taste buds on a journey with delicious Villa Maria wines matched with equally delicious Barrys Bay cheeses – at just $15 a ticket, its limited seating so get in quick because it will fill up fast. Head to www.foodshow.co.nz to reserve your spot.
If all of that’s not enough to keep you busy, the Deli Collective has everything you need to create the platter of your dreams, check out the Artisan Village for the best in small-batch handcrafted goods and grab yet another bite to eat and a drink from the food trucks in Waitoa Beer Street Food Alley. If you are on a health kick, the Ceres Organics Healthy Hub Kitchen is just the spot.
