Enjoy a summer’s day out on Waiheke Island, tasting boutique Waiheke wines, while basking in the sounds of some top live music. The Waiheke Wine & Food Festival is kicking off on Saturday 2 April, with gourmet food and wine and a live soundtrack of musicians, including internationally renowned Nathan Haines band, Aaron Carpenter & the Revelators, Rikki Morris and Chet O’Connell and Rain Dogs.
Award-winning vineyards at the festival who will serve their hand-crafted wines are Awaroa, Batch, Cable Bay, Goldie Wines, Man O War, Miro, Mudbrick, Obsidian, Passage Rock, Peacock Sky, Poderi Crisci, Stonyridge, Te Motu, Wild on Waiheke and Woodside Hill.
Buses will run from both ferries to Te Motu “The Airstrip” and return, so all you need to worry about is having fun!
Ticket price includes the ferry, bus, a wine glass, lanyard, festival flyer and a glass of wine on arrival. On island tickets are also available.
In addition to this Festival Day, there is a whole Festival Week of events created for your pleasure – from wine and cheese masterclasses and winemakers dinners, to a tango dance and a grape harvest and even a foot stomp.
