Two new crowd-pleasing sauces and a winning relish have been added to the Barker’s range, ready for the summer season.
Brewer’s Barbecue Beer Sauce is a rich, bold sauce containing 12% ale giving it a delicious flavour with mild heat, while still appealing to the whole family. For spice-lovers the Food Lover’s Habanero Sauce delivers a hot Mexican taste. Following the popular, gourmet hot dog trend, the New Yorker Mustard Relish is a lively addition to any condiment cart and has been recognised with a finalist place in the dry awards category of the forthcoming New Zealand Food Awards 2016.
The Brewer’s Barbecue Beer Sauce has a tomato base sweetened by a brown sugar, molasses and raisin combo which balances the onion, garlic, spices and smoke extract. Brewer’s Barbecue Beer Sauce is a great addition to any meal. Try Barker’s Beef and Barbecue Beer Pie (recipe below).
Tomatoes, red capsicums and red onions in the Habanero sauce provides a solid base to carry the habanero chilli which complements any dish demanding a heat kick. For inspiration using the Habanero sauce, check out Barker’s Buffalo Chicken Wings (recipe below). Its balanced flavours complement a meal rather than overpowering it.
The unique blend of New Zealand apricot and New Zealand onion in Barker’s New Yorker Mustard Relish helps deliver a sweet mustard sensation perfect as an accompaniment to ham, silverside or as a base to dress your next gourmet hot dog.
The three new products broaden Barker’s already extensive condiment offering, with the recent launch of the sauce range delighting retailers and consumers by breathing life, excitement and love into the specialty sauce shelves.
Barker’s Brewer’s Barbecue Beer & Food Lover’s Habanero Sauce are both RRP $3.99 each and New Yorker Mustard Relish is RRP $4.69 and are all available at NZ-owned New World and Pak’n’Save Supermarkets.
