Powerade has announced its star-studded sporting line up for 2016 and the launch of its new electrolyte-charged, Powerade ION4. Sporting super stars Steven Adams (Oklahoma City Thunder NBA player), Kane Williamson (current NZ Sportsman of the Year, and recently named Wisden’s Leading Cricketer in the World), and Mahé Drysdale (Olympic champion rower) officially join the Powerade ambassador team.
Powerade is a long-time supporter of a diverse range of Kiwi sports, and will continue its long-standing partnership with the BLACKCAPS and Silver Ferns, as well as New Zealand Investec Super Rugby teams, and Mitre 10 Cup teams – Auckland, Waikato, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago.
Powerade also demonstrates its commitment to sporting achievements through its sponsorship of the most popular marathon events in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.
Internationally, Powerade is also an official sponsor of Rio 2016 Olympic Games and will be supporting Mahé Drysdale in his quest for Olympic Games glory.
Jodie Timmins, Powerade Brand Manager says: “New Zealand is a sporting nation and we have a real affinity with sport – whether we’re supporting from the sidelines, competing against ourselves, or as part of a team. We’re proud to have a relationship with some of New Zealand’s most loved sporting greats. Our new brand ambassadors and sponsorship programme reflects Powerade’s firm commitment to sporting talent.”
