Party time – with award-winning cheeses!

FMCG Business Head of Content Tamara Rubanowski, who was on the judging panel at the 2018 Champions of Cheese Awards, says a good quality cheeseboard with a selection of New Zealand cheeses, fresh fruit, crackers and chutney is one of her personal favourites for entertaining at home.

She says: “Try to include a variety of textures and flavours to suit all tastes. Go for an aged Gouda, a soft goat cheese or Brie, a firm Cheddar and a creamy blue cheese, for example. Serve cheeses at room temperature to get the full flavour. Place your cheeses on a nice platter or wooden board, cover them with cling film and leave for 1-2 hours before serving. This enables the cheese to come to room temperature without drying out.”

“Cherry tomatoes and fresh basil skewered with bocconcini cheeses is another easy, but colourful and flavoursome combo for your next party,” says Tamara.
