Intermedia takes a stake in new product delivery model

rsz_intermedia_stockbox_hero2-blackThe Intermedia Group has entered into a partnership with STOCK BOX to launch Australia’s first product sampling service for independent retailers.

STOCK BOX is an innovative new service designed to put products front and centre with independent retailers. We know that 95% of all new products entering the market fail within the first 12 months due to resourcing issues and poor research. STOCK BOX is not designed to replace company marketing efforts, but to complement them by putting new products into the hands of the real decision makers.

“We are very excited to have the Intermedia Group on board”, said STOCK BOX Managing Director Craig Matthews, “as its presence and expertise across multiple business channels provides our program with a unique opportunity to present new products to businesses that might otherwise miss out. Our mission is to provide suppliers and manufacturers with a voice, and give retailers the choice on products that are new to the market. With the support of The Intermedia Group, we will be able to deliver more new products to multiple channels of the retail trade.”

The Intermedia Group Managing Director Simon Grover commented on the partnership: “Intermedia provides one of the most comprehensive and targeted B2B advertising networks in Australia. Our brands are a vital source of information for Australian and New Zealand businesses, falling within 12 vertical markets. The emerging trends in print media are moving to a more diversified information delivery model. With the growth of online retailing and parcel deliveries to the consumer market, the STOCK BOX model provides a new and innovative way for Intermedia to expand its B2B presence.”

STOCK BOXES will not be in circulation until November, but retailer registration is open already (www.mystockbox.com.au).

“The program has already exceeded expectations with 1,000 retailers registering since its launch last month”, said Matthews. “Suppliers have also been expressing considerable interest in having their products represented in the boxes, and we are encouraged by the volume of new entrant supplier enquiries coming through.”

“What sets STOCK BOX apart from other product awareness models is that we work at the coal face, talking directly with independent operators and small business owners who make-up the vast majority of the Australian retail landscape”, said Matthews. “By providing retailers with real product samples to evaluate, suppliers will have a greater rate of success through trial. And with the increasing reduction in company field forces and in-field support, STOCK BOX will become more and more important to suppliers looking to lift their product profile and penetration.”
