Rod Gibson, the head of New Zealand’s largest and most trusted grocery brand Pams, is taking on a new challenge; moving from General Manager of Foodstuffs Own Brands Ltd (FOBL) to a new role as CEO of Vetcare and Animates. FOBL develops and markets award-winning Pams, Pams Finest, Value and Pams Superfoods brands among others.

Gibson will stay in his role at Foodstuffs Own Brands until the end of March 2019. An executive search is now underway for a new leader for an award-winning team.

Gibson has a long history with Foodstuffs, beginning 11 years ago as Group Manager for PAK’nSAVE. After a stint as Fresh Foods Manager for Foodstuffs Auckland, Gibson became CEO of Liquorland and spent the next three years in this role. He then moved to FOBL – driving fantastic growth over four years.

Steve Anderson, Managing Director of Foodstuffs NZ, says Gibson is leaving Foodstuffs Own Brands in a very strong position. “Rod’s passion and dedication has put our Private Label products at the heart of millions of New Zealanders’ picnics, refrigerators and pantries. With his leadership, Pams, Pams Finest, Value and Pams Superfoods have seen unprecedented growth and continue to be one of the key drivers of customer preference. These iconic brands enable New Zealanders to access top quality fresh food and groceries at affordable prices.”

Foodstuffs’ 100% NZ owned retail brands include PAK’nSAVE, New World, Four Square, Raeward Fresh, On The Spot, Liquorland, and Henry’s Beer Wines & Spirits, as well as foodservice brands Gilmours and Trents.
