Best Design Awards for Ogilvy

Ogilvy NZ is proud to pick up three Golds, a Silver and two Bronze at the prestigious and hotly contested Best Design Awards. With over 1,100 people attending, the Best Design Awards event is the largest of its kind in Australasia.

“It was a special night hosting our clients from Waikato Tainui, NZ Police and Sanitarium, on the night they were all winners. We were especially privileged to host Kiingi Tuuheitia Pootatau Te Wherowhero and the royal family, including the kiingi’s son, Korotangi Paki, who helped with the design of the Te Hookioi magazine artwork. We wouldn’t have been so successful had it not been for the trust and bravery of our clients.”

The big Ogilvy winners of the night were:

  • Gold in a co-lab with Geometry a Shopper Agency for Sanitarium, So Good – Garden of Goodness
  • Gold NZ Police, Parihimana Car Environmental Graphic category
  • Silver NZ Police Parihimana Car Public Good category
  • Bronze Waikato Tainui for Te Hookioi magazine in the heavily contested Ngā Aho category
  • Bronze Sanitarium, So Good – Garden of Goodness Environmental Graphics

Judges’ comments for Garden of Goodness were: “Quite delightful and playful and totally edible! A little fantastical, sensory wonderland for all the senses – designed in line with the food message to try new and different things.”

Nathan Chambers, Head of design for Ogilvy says, “I’m pleased that our work has made such an impact across so many categories and disciplines. It’s a first for us to enter the spatial, product and public good categories and to come out with three gold is really rewarding. We’re investing a lot of time as an agency into strong client relationships and mahi that makes a real difference to brands – so these accolades are a manifestation of this time and effort. Out of the twelve Ogilvy finalists we are really pleased with the Award results. The awards evening was a strong showing of the top design talent and clients – committed to purposeful design for promoting and establishing NZ business.”

Ogilvy Managing Director Greg Partington adds: “We thank our clients Sanitarium, NZ Police and Waikato Tainui for their ongoing work with us. Ogilvy prides itself on its end to end capabilities and design has become a genuine specialism for this company.”
