Sujon is the oldest and most fully established Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) berry fruit brand in the retail and foodservice markets in New Zealand.
Sujon branded berry fruits have been in the market for over twenty years. Sujon traces its origins back to a period of frustration in the mid-1980s when as growers John and Sue saw the need to ensure an all year round supply of fruit.
With the New Zealand berry fruit production being seasonal, one of Sujon’s most significant achievements has been to find a way to bring their customers berryfruit in peak perfection, in any season. The company’s success has been driven by their innovative culture and partnerships formed with growers worldwide.
Sue and John had been growing boysenberries for seven years when they started Sujon. Beginning with their specialty fruit – boysenberries, other fruit soon joined the expanding frozen fruit product list – raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, cherries, gooseberries, cranberries, rhubarb and diced apple. Sujon continues to be the leading berryfruit pioneer, with more recent product additions including the Sujon Blackcurrant powder which can be found in most health shops or purchased direct from Sujon online.
