Basket-full of surprises: The Foodstuffs Partnership Awards return for its biggest show yet

Excitement is mounting for the 2023 Foodstuffs Partnership Awards with this year’s event taking place Wednesday March 8 at The Barn, Claudelands Event Centre, Hamilton.

The event sees Foodstuffs co-operatives North Island and Foodstuffs South Island and their supplier partners come together to celebrate their relationships across Aotearoa and reflect upon some amazing achievements over the past year.

Over 533 suppliers representing 170 companies are expected to be in attendance, alongside owner-operators and team members from New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square across the North and South Island.

Foodstuffs North Island General Manager Merchandise David Stewart says the awards are an excellent opportunityfor our suppliers and our members and teams to come together tocelebrate the partnerships between the co-operatives and their suppliers of all sizes and across all categories.

“For the last few years each year presents our industry with a fresh set of evolving challenges, and now more than ever, our customers have come to rely on us to deliver value without comprising on the things that are important to them, like product innovation, convenience, and quality.”

Following on from last year’s successful Partnership Awards at Te Pae in Christchurch, this year’s event will be hosted during the 2023 Foodstuffs Expo, New Zealand’s largest business-to-business food show.

Foodstuffs South Island GM Merchandise and Wholesale Damian Lynch says there are key values that the awards like to recognise.

“Innovation, sustainability, teamwork and the ability to meet and exceed customer expectations are all highly valued by the co-operatives,” he says.

A rigorous internal judging process will recognise 50 finalists across 11 categories with Foodstuffs North and South Island stores presenting five awards each recognising category excellence. This includes Grocery Partner, Grocery – Non-Food Partner, Liquor Partner, Fresh Partner and Emerging Supplier as well as one overall National Award.
