Responding to the devastating impact of the cyclone, PAK Your Pantry has now provided $575,000 worth of food and everyday essentials to those affected in the hardest-hit areas.
The changes are designed to help customers increase healthier choices in their shopping basket.
“While food price inflation remains high, we’re hopeful we’ve seen the crest of the wave of record cost increases from suppliers,” says Chris Quin, Managing Director Foodstuffs New Zealand.
The Statistics NZ Food Price Index shows food prices increased 12.5% for April 2023 compared to a year ago.
The new $20 million dollar facility is the second new regional transport depot to be opened by the co-op in the last six months.
