PAK’nSAVE steps up to help the Auckland City Mission

While the teams at all Foodstuffs stores; PAK’nSAVE, New World and Four Square, give millions of dollars to their local communities each year, they really step up when times are tough.  Having heard this morning that the Auckland City Mission is under a great deal of pressure this Christmas, the PAK’nSAVE team has stepped in to donate $15,000 to the Mission team to help feed families in need this Christmas.

Chris Quin, CEO Foodstuffs North Island says, “We believe that having access to good affordable food shouldn’t be a privilege for New Zealanders – and PAK’nSAVE strives to help out in all sorts of ways.  We are really pleased to be able to help the Mission team at this special time of year – when families are doing their very best to get together and celebrate the things that are most important; children, family and community.”

PAK’nSAVE heard the Mission’s call out this morning and has stepped up to donate $15,000 which can be used to load families up on kai in time for Christmas.  Chris Farrelly, Auckland City Missioner, says, “We are incredibly thankful that PAK’nSAVE has been able to contribute such an incredible amount to help our Mission families this Christmas. Many families struggle all year, but Christmas is a time when we try especially hard to make sure they have what they need. It’s a time for giving and we have a real need for our community to help us provide much needed food – generous donations like this make a real difference.”

The donation made today has been given to the Auckland City Mission to help families in need.
