New MD for Beiersdorf ANZ

New MD for Beiersdorf ANZ

Beiersdorf, one of the world’s leading skincare companies, has announced the departure of long-time ANZ Managing Director Clynton Bartholomeusz following his decision to retire at the end of the year, after three dedicated decades leading the organisation.

A marketer by trade, Clynton joined Beiersdorf in 1994, leading the relaunch of the NIVEA brand in the Australian market. He was appointed to the role of Beiersdorf ANZ MD in 2001 and for the past 24 years has applied his values-based leadership to continuous and strong commercial success.

Clynton has undeniably been at the forefront of Beiersdorf’s local achievements and under his leadership the expansion of NIVEA into many new categories – making it today the most known and loved skincare brand in Australia.

He also established Beiersdorf’s Elastoplast brand as the preferred partner for sports professionals, unlocking the competitive healthcare sector for the first time to the organisation.

“It has been a highlight of my professional journey, building the business. But more importantly, it is the talented team of people that I have had the opportunity to collaborate with daily who continue to inspire me to bring my best as a leader. I want to thank everyone within the organisation for your ongoing dedication and commitment,” says Mr Bartholomeusz.

Appointed to the position of Managing Director will be Beiersdorf’s Sales Director ANZ, Dulcie de Koning. Effective from 1st July, Dulcie will step into the leadership role with the vision to further grow Beiersdorf’s industry-leading stable of brands, including NIVEA and Elastoplast within Oceania. The appointment of Dulcie de Koning will help forge a path for Beiersdorf, marked by growth, innovation and a driving customer-centric culture at the helm of the organisation.

Clynton expressed his utmost confidence in Dulcie’s seamless transition to leading the team.

“Dulcie knows the Beiersdorf brand and reflects our values of care while also bringing a rich understanding of the dynamic, high-performing market. After decades of journeying with Beiersdorf, I am passing on the baton to Dulcie and, confident the team will continue to thrive under her stewardship,” says Mr Bartholomeusz.

As a seasoned and proven leader within the retail and FMCG sector, Dulcie brings more than 20 years’ experience to the role, having worked for Procter & Gamble and, more recently, as PepsiCo’s Commercial Strategy Director before joining Beiersdorf in 2023.  She is widely recognised for her strategic insights where her interest in shopper-based design and rich expertise in commercial strategy sees her maintain a deep understanding of ever-changing consumer demands, especially in the competitive beauty and wellbeing categories.

“We have the benefit of our longstanding 143-year legacy as a trusted skincare organisation. Our range of brands currently caters to seven in 10 Aussie and Kiwi households and in my new role, together with the team as well as our longstanding retail partners, we will continue to increase our brands’ presence and position our tried and tested, innovative products as everyday staples.

“Clynton’s contributions have been instrumental in shaping the success of Beiersdorf ANZ. His leadership, dedication, and vision have left a lasting impact, ensuring ongoing success for the team and business. We will miss his presence as a leader and colleague, and we are immensely grateful for his legacy. We wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement,” says Ms de Koning.
