Makeover for PAK’nSAVE

PAK’nSAVE Henderson in West Auckland is getting a makeover inside and out.

The last day of trading for the store in Alderman Drive will be Saturday 5 October and it will re-open with a transformed, rebuilt store in early 2021.

Lindsay Rowles, GM of Membership and Property Foodstuffs North Island says, “We’re excited about a totally new PAK’nSAVE Henderson delivering on our policy of offering New Zealand’s lowest food prices to the Henderson community. As the second oldest PAK’nSAVE in New Zealand, and having served millions of New Zealanders over its 34-year history, closing the store for a comprehensive rebuild is needed, but this means it can be completed much more quickly and efficiently.”

The new store will be 2.5 times the size of the old store, feature a modern design aesthetic, and include fresh quality fruit & vege, seafood, butchery and deli offerings, all at New Zealand’s lowest prices. The new site will also have an underground carpark, click & collect service and will feature the latest environmental technology. Once the store is complete, store staff will double to 200+ employees who are ready to serve customers.

Rayner Bonnington, owner operator of PAK’nSAVE Henderson says, “We are fully supporting the current 100 PAK’nSAVE Henderson team members on their next journey. Some employees have chosen to take redundancy and seek other jobs elsewhere, while others are exploring new opportunities across our business, as well as roles at other PAK’nSAVE and New World stores. We look forward to better serving local and visiting customers when the store re-opens.”

Customers can visit PAK’nSAVE Westgate, PAK’nSAVE Lincoln Road and New World New Lynn during the closure period.
