With its legendary blend of Old World elegance and continental cool, the Cannes Film Festival sets the bar for seaside glamour each year, delivering an epic line-up of beauty and fashion inspiration.

This year, L’Oréal Paris celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival and its 20th Festival as the official beauty brand. Among the most exciting aspects of the Cannes Film Festival – apart from the films – is the fashion and the glamorous stars seen on red carpets and at parties and events.

Swedish satire The Square triumphed at the Cannes Film Festival, picking up the Palme d’Or prize this year. The film, which was directed by Ruben Ostlund, beat 18 other competitors to claim the grand prize. Director Pedro Almodovar, who chaired the festival’s jury this year, said The Square was a rich and “completely contemporary” story about “the dictatorship of being politically correct.”

Among other highlights at the Festival, Sofia Coppola became the second-ever female director to win Cannes’ Best Director prize for her film The Beguiled, while Diane Kruger won Best Actress for her role in In The Fade.
