It’s Bee Aware Month!

Bee Aware Month is an annual education campaign run every September in New Zealand. It is organised by Apiculture New Zealand and supported by bee lovers everywhere.

To celebrate Bee Awareness Month, Manuka Doctor have developed a charity product to promote the importance of bees in our ecosphere. They partnered with Palmers garden centre to celebrate honeybees and created an exclusive, never before released 300g Squeezable Beech Forest Honey (RRP is $4.99). The idea of the partnership is to promote online and retail sales of the product for which they will donate 25c of each unit sold to the Garden to Table charitable trust.

The Garden to Table programme is teaching children essential gardening skills. All around the country, they want to see children enthusiastically getting their hands dirty and learning how to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal food.

The programme is curriculum-integrated and provides real-world learning opportunities outside the classroom. For more information visit http://www.gardentotable.org.nz/

Bees are the tiny superheroes of the natural world. They keep our planet growing by pollinating native plants, our gardens and our food crops. And they make honey, wax, propolis and royal jelly – all products that humans use.

Bees need our help right now. They face many challenges: habitat loss, diseases, parasites, pesticide poisoning and the effects of climate change.

Bee a Hero this Bee Aware Month and help our Kiwi bees by growing bee-friendly plants, supporting beekeepers and spraying safely.
