Garnier teams up with Kiwi designer

garnier_teams_up_with_kathryn_wilson_2_2Renowned Kiwi footwear designer and businesswoman Kathryn Wilson is the new face of Garnier BB Cream in New Zealand. The international skincare brand hand-picked the designer for her multi-tasking, entrepreneurial role in fashion, business and leadership.

To celebrate the partnership, Garnier and Wilson have teamed up to create a unique shoe for autumn 2015: The BB Ballerina Flat. The shoes were designed based on one of Kathryn’s all-time best-sellers and customised for Garnier in a unique finish. Only 42 pairs have been created, in a nude palette to match the BB Cream’s flawless texture.

Unlike Garnier BB Cream which is available nationwide, the BB Ballerina Flat can’t be bought. The highly coveted shoe will instead only be available as a giveaway through selected New Zealand media publications and the Garnier Facebook page. (To get your hands on a pair of the flats, keep an eye on the ‘enter to win’ competitions from April 2015.)

The nude ballerina flats echo the multi-tasking characteristics of the Garnier BB Cream: a daily handbag must-have, and a perfect partner for any occasion.

Wilson says the key to her success is in designs that are at the forefront of fashion while being accessible enough to ensure they don’t sit in the wardrobe untouched. “The BB Ballerina flats are a timeless, versatile design you can wear with confidence and won’t have to change throughout the day,” says Wilson. “Like the BB Cream, the flats are the perfect shoe for the busy, multi-tasking woman”

In just a decade, Wilson has established herself as a leading New Zealand footwear designer. After winning an AMP scholarship in 2002 she marketed her first range of shoes and they are now stocked in more than 100 boutiques, including her own three New Zealand boutiques, and with an ever-expanding online reach.

Introduced to New Zealand in 2011, the Garnier BB Cream has taken the beauty world by storm, becoming a leading ‘BB’ cream in New Zealand for more than three years.

The Wilson-Garnier collaboration showcases two industry leaders with shared brand values, says Garnier Marketing Manager Shannon Watts. “I’m really excited to announce this special partnership,” she says. “Kathryn fully embodies the Garnier brand and is a perfect match for the Garnier BB Cream which, like Kathryn’s footwear, is a firm favourite in New Zealand.”

Garnier BB Cream with SPF protection paved the way for a new generation of makeup that delivers a hybrid formula combining long-lasting hydrating care with the light touch of make-up for instantly visible results. A Vitamin C derivative boosts skin’s natural glow and radiance while mineral pigments instantly beautify skin for a flawless, even complexion. All BB Creams, bar the Ambre Solaire BB Cream Sun which suits all skin tones, are available in a light or medium tint and can be found at selected supermarkets, pharmacies and department stores.
