Foodstuffs and Griffin’s limited-edition biscuits for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ

Foodstuffs and Griffin’s have partnered to deliver a limited-edition social impact biscuit benefiting Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand (BCFNZ).

For the month of May, the biscuit, which has a shortbread base and comes in two flavours, pink icing and chocolate, is available exclusively at New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square stores nationwide while stocks last. With $1 from every biscuit packet sold going directly to BCFNZ, the goal is to raise $250,000, to go towards their efforts to raise Kiwis’ overall awareness of breast health and the importance of early detection, as well as providing free support services for breast cancer patients.

“More Kiwi women are diagnosed with breast cancer than any other cancer in New Zealand, with around 3,300 new diagnoses every year,” says Evangelia Henderson, Chief Executive of Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand. “If we can help Kiwis ‘find it before you feel it,’ we’ve already saved lives.

“BCFNZ receives no government funding, so we rely on generous partners like Foodstuffs and Griffin’s to raise critical funds so we can educate Kiwis on the importance of going for mammograms, doing regular self-checks and providing support to breast cancer patients. New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square customers who purchase the biscuits for their morning tea or Pink Ribbon Breakfast, will have a direct impact on BCFNZ’s efforts and the support we provide to patients.”

“Foodstuffs and Griffin’s are two Kiwi companies who have come together to support an incredible Kiwi charity that is on the front line of supporting New Zealanders with breast cancer,” says Antoinette Laird, Head of Corporate Affairs, Foodstuffs New Zealand. “The social impact biscuit benefitting BCFNZ is another way we can demonstrate our ‘Here for New Zealand’ commitment and by involving our generous customers in the process, we’re able to have an even more significant impact on a cancer that claims far too many lives.”

Each May BCFNZ’s Pink Ribbon Breakfasts are designed to bring Kiwis together, with funds raised going directly to the ground-breaking work some of New Zealand’s top breast cancer researchers are undertaking, in addition to educational programmes and patient support services.

“Whether it’s purchasing a pack of biscuits to bake the ‘Lemonade and Biscuit Cheesecake’ recipe for Mum this Mother’s Day or hosting their own Pink Ribbon Breakfast, supporting BCFNZ is a rewarding cause we can all get behind,” finishes Laird.

The social impact biscuits are available exclusively at New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square stores nationwide throughout the month of May or while stocks last.

Griffin’s has been a proud sponsor of BCFNZ since 2019 through a 20 cent per pack donation from limited-edition products sold during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
