Brand new Four Square opens in Diamond Harbour

Diamond Harbour’s brand new Four Square is now open. The purpose-built store, which is located at Shop 5, 143 Marine Drive, is owned and operated by two familiar faces, James Grant and Laura Palmer, the previous operators of the nearby On The Spot store.

For James and Laura, opening a Four Square Supermarket turns a long-held family dream into a reality.

“We’re really excited about the new store, the Four Square is four times the size of our previous place, which means we can bring so much more to this awesome community.”

The new store features a wide selection of fresh and chilled foods, a comprehensive wine and beer selection, which includes zero-alcohol options, self-checkouts, electronic shelf ticketing, a state of the art highly sustainable CO2 refrigeration system and a lotto kiosk.

As the 62nd Four Square to open in South Island the store couldn’t have come at a better time, says Four Square South Island Group Manager, Steve Alexander, “Since Covid-19 came along we’re finding customers want to shop closer to home, so we’re absolutely delighted to be bringing the convenience and choice that a Four Square Supermarket has to offer to the Diamond Harbour community.”

Owner operator James says the whole family is loving the new store, with their daughter Harriet the most excited. “Since moving to Diamond Harbour four years ago, we’re proud to call this community home and feel privileged to be working alongside our team of ten. We’ll also be looking to take on some more team members to help us over the busy Christmas and summer period.”
