Australia: Caltex partners with UberEats
Caltex has launched a new partnership with UberEats offering a new delivery service available from 300 sites nationally. Caltex’s first venture into delivery services will see customers able use UberEats to access and order from its ‘The Foodary’ delivery range, with over 50 items available for delivery straight to their door. The service will deliver everything from ready-to-eat meals, sandwiches and protein snacks to health and beauty products and general grocery items.
Jo Taylor, Caltex’s Executive General Manager, Convenience Retail, said the new service is a natural extension of Caltex’s broader push to deliver even more convenience for Australian consumers.
“This new delivery offer is a natural extension of our convenience offering – we know Australians are time poor and value the moments when we can make life a little easier for them. Our new ‘The Foodary’ delivery range has been put together to provide our customers with the ability to source a healthy, easy meal, satisfy a sweet tooth craving or grab an urgently needed household item,” said Taylor.
‘The Foodary’ delivery range on UberEats was piloted in March 2019 across 27 metropolitan sites. The trial showed ready-to-eat meals and sweet tooth treats as top sellers, including the ‘Ice Cream Lovers Dessert’ bundle and the Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream and Cadbury chocolate products.
Caltex Foodary and UberEatsCaltex’s Head of Design, Format and New Business, Beatrice Bowen, said customers are increasingly looking for convenient ways to get food and groceries and satisfy cravings at night and on the weekend.
“More and more Australians are embracing food delivery services, so we are thrilled to offer customers the next level of convenience from home, offering not just food, but frequently purchased items like milk, bread and other household products, along with those sweet treats needed to accompany the perfect night in!”
“This is an exciting new opportunity to satisfy new customer segments, particularly non-drivers and millennials and enables us to reach customers wherever and whenever they demand convenience products,” said Bowen. “This partnership is our first extension into delivery services and while we’ve been pleased with the response from customers to date, we’re excited to grow and extend our offer into more fresh food and grocery items.”
Customers can download the UberEats app and search ‘The Foodary’ to access the Caltex range or click ‘Grocery’ to start ordering.
