Anuga Highlights

Ten trade shows rolled into one giant event across 284,000 square metres – that is Anuga, which opened its doors again from 5 to 9 October in Cologne, Germany. With around 7,500 exhibitors and around 165,000 trade visitors, Anuga is the leading meeting point for the international food industry.

Anuga’s Boulevard of Inspiration offered trade visitors innovative products, divided into regions and themes and bundled into three interesting special events: The Anuga Trend Zone, the Anuga Taste Innovation show and a new event, Anuga Horizon 2050. The Boulevard of Inspiration offered the latest market and consumer trends and future development ideas for the food and beverage industry.

The Anuga Trend Zone is the lecture stage where a team of experts from Innova Market Insights and Euromonitor presented the latest analyses of developments in the food and beverage industry.

Anuga celebrates a 100-year milestone this year. The first Anuga took place in Stuttgart in 1919 with around 200 German firms participating. Based on the concept of an annual touring exhibition, further events of the General Food and Luxury Exhibition were staged, among others in Munich in 1920, in Berlin in 1922 and in Cologne in 1924. With around 360 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors, the first Anuga in Cologne was the best event since its inception, which is why the organisers opted for Cologne as the permanent location.
