Waitrose in the UK has launched a click and collect service for its online wine website waitrosecellar.com. The new service will enable customers to pick up their purchases from over 300 Waitrose branches. Orders placed before 7pm will be available for free collection from a customer’s chosen branch after 2pm the following day.
Launched in May 2014, Waitrose Cellar offers 1,200 wines and champagnes as well as spirits and single bottle gifts.
Click & Collect is a popular shopping option in the UK that is set to grow and over time Waitrose is expecting up to 50% of orders to be for collection from store. The roll out of Click & Collect for waitrosecellar.com in the run up to Christmas will be a convenient and time-saving solution for customers to buy their wine, commented a spokesperson.
